Before the Bulbs are Planted…
Now that the sun is shining and the weather is finally warm, more and more of you will be out in your gardens; planting, mowing, hoeing, pulling weeds and raking. Gardening can provide a great workout for your body and if done correctly, can be very enjoyable too!
A warm up and cool down period are imperative for gardening just as it would be for any other major activity you perform. Before you reach for those gardening tools, be sure to stretch your major muscle groups: the back, upper legs, shoulders and wrists. By doing so you will help your body avoid any aches, pains or strains while you perform these tasks.
After the Bulbs are Planted…
Be sure to repeat the same stretches you performed prior to your out door tasks. This will help with any stiffness, aches or pains you may encounter.
If you have aches or pains that have been persistent for 48 hours or more, please contact your chiropractor. They will be able to set you up with specific stretches your body will need to help heal and prevent future injuries.
