The Quadratus Lumborum (QL) muscles are very important muscles for core stability and are culprits in many cases of low back pain. The QL muscles attach the pelvis to the lumbar vertebrae. These muscles are very important to the back for motions like side bending and back extensions, they are involved with picking up and carring heavier items. Sedentary lifestyles not only result in weaker core muscles but also make our QL muscles more vulnerable to injury. A weaker QL muscle can eventually lead to a less stabilized spine and an increase chance of disc issues and arthritis.
Dr. Scott can properly assess your lower back and QL muscles to help prevent future injury or alleviate any pain you may be having currently!
